“You should start a blog” is something I have heard for years from friends, co-workers, family members, and neighbors. Yet I have hesitated to pursue the idea, mainly because I am not sure who would be THAT interested into what I have to say. I guess I’m about to find out!

My goal with this blog is to share practical ideas on how to enjoy your home, your life, and your time with your friends, and your family. My home is my sanctuary and my kitchen is where I enjoy spending a lot of my time — cooking for and feeding the stomachs and souls of my loved ones.

In my native country of France, people put a lot more emphasis on enjoying life and living in the present. In this, my adopted, country of the Unites States, the focus seems to be on schedules, activities, and being “busy.” I honestly can’t think of a French word that fully captures the meaning of the word “busy” in English. A telltale sign of the many cultural differences between the two countries.
